Around The Estate

While the estate itself offers plenty of ways to spend your days, the surrounding Chianti countryside invites exploration. Rolling hills, medieval villages, forest trails and historic cities are all within easy reach. Whether on foot, by bicycle or with a local guide, the region rewards those who take the time to wander.

Cycling Through Chianti

The roads around Fattoria di Vegi are made for cycling. Quiet country lanes wind through vineyards, olive groves, and small hilltop villages, offering both leisurely rides and more challenging routes for experienced cyclists. For those looking to explore further afield, we can arrange bicycle or e-bike rentals and suggest routes that reveal the landscape at its best, including sections of the famous strade bianche, the white gravel roads that define Tuscany’s countryside.

Walks & Hikes

Walking is one of the most rewarding ways to experience Chianti. From the estate itself, trails lead through vineyards, forests, and quiet country roads where the pace of life feels unchanged for centuries. We can provide suggested walking routes or arrange guided tours with local experts who share stories about the land, its traditions, and its people. And for those who enjoy a longer walk, a hike through the surrounding countryside leads to the atmospheric ruins of Castello di Monterano. Set among forests and rolling hills, the remains of the medieval castle offer a glimpse into the region’s layered past. The walk itself is as rewarding as the destination, a journey through landscapes that have changed little over time.

Exploring Chianti

Chianti is a region best explored slowly. Nearby villages such as Castellina in Chianti, Radda, and Gaiole are full of small wine bars, artisan workshops and weekly markets where local producers sell cheeses, olive oil and handmade goods. Along the way, you’ll also encounter historic wineries and traces of the region’s ancient past, including Etruscan ruins scattered across the hills.

Siena

The historic city of Siena is just under an hour away and offers one of Tuscany’s most memorable cultural experiences. Its medieval streets converge on the magnificent Piazza del Campo, home to the famous Palio di Siena, a centuries-old horse race held twice each summer. Beyond the spectacle, Siena’s museums, churches and cafés make it an endlessly fascinating place to spend a day.

Florence

A little further north lies Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance and one of Italy’s most celebrated cities. From the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery to quiet streets filled with artisan workshops, Florence rewards both first-time visitors and returning travellers. We can arrange private guides for art and architecture tours, as well as curated bicycle excursions through the city.

Eat & Drink

Our restaurant, set in the estate’s old Cantina, serves a seasonal menu rooted in local ingredients, from breakfast on the terrace to dinner by candlelight. Guests can join relaxed cooking classes in the kitchen garden or take part in our guided wine tastings, exploring the estate’s Chianti Classico and small-batch selections straight from the cellar.
